Our Story
With today's demands of delivering quality products within strict project deadlines, we identified a critical gap: projects were frequently delayed due to misinterpretations between Code compliance and general accepted industry practices.
Refined Inspection Services was founded to bridge this gap—educating teams and supplying experienced inspectors who can clearly communicate these differences and help clients meet their deadlines without compromising safety or quality.

Theo Young
Owner & Training Director
Theo Young is a highly accomplished NDT professional, educator, and founder of Refined Inspection Services. Beginning his career in 2008 as a Quality Control Technician with National Oilwell Varco, he quickly advanced by earning multiple NDT certifications, including AWS CWI and API 570. Encouraged by industry leaders, he went on to achieve five ASNT Level III certifications—the highest distinction in the field. After completing instructor training, Theo taught at one of Texas’s most respected NDT schools before launching Refined Inspection Services in 2018 with a mission to support individuals who may not otherwise have access to quality NDT training—especially those facing financial limitations or trying to rise above past mistakes. Today, he leads one of the industry’s most innovative training platforms, driven by a passion for opening doors, expanding opportunities, and empowering the next generation of NDT professionals.

Amine Brittain is a seasoned Level III NDT expert with over 15 years of experience specializing in ultrasonic testing, phased array, TOFD, and advanced inspection methods. He brings a strong record of developing innovative NDT solutions, leading complex field projects, and optimizing inspection processes across manufacturing, aerospace, offshore, and power generation sectors. With extensive hands-on experience and deep knowledge of materials, welds, pressure equipment, and mechanical testing, Amine is highly regarded for procedure development, troubleshooting, and code-based diagnostics. He also provides expert training and certification in UT, MT, and PT, making him a trusted resource for elevating technician competency and inspection quality.

Anthony Cooper
NDT Consultant & Level III Specialist
Anthony Cooper is a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) professional with over 25 years of experience supporting integrity management programs in the petroleum and oilfield sector. His expertise includes advanced application of Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL), Visual Testing (VT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) techniques for evaluating drilling products, pressure-containing components, and structural assemblies. Holding ASNT Level III in Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Visual Testing, and Magnetic Flux Leakage. Anthony has an extensive background in field inspection, quality assurance, and compliance with industry standards such as API, ASNT, DS-1, and ASTM, ensuring asset reliability and operational safety across upstream operations.

Adam T. Guess is an experienced NDT Level III specializing in advanced and conventional inspection techniques including PAUT, ToFD, UT, MT, and PT. With 15+ years supporting major industries—Aerospace, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Renewables, and more—he has strengthened inspection programs through hands-on technical leadership, method development, and rigorous compliance oversight. Adam has led failure analysis investigations, improved QMS processes, and collaborated with engineering and software teams to design and automate innovative inspection solutions.
