Class Schedule & Student FAQs

Download the latest course schedule, review refund policies, and get ready for hands-on training in our Houston facility. We keep weekend and weekday cohorts aligned with outage cycles and certification exam windows.

Why Choose Refined for Training?

Beyond decades of field experience across visual, ultrasonic, radiographic, and electromagnetic inspection, we give every student the chance to keep sharpening their craft. Alumni can return to the NDT Gym at no additional cost to work through flawed components, review equipment techniques, and prep for upcoming jobs or exams.

What to Bring & Know Before You Arrive

Steel-toe shoes are required in the classroom and lab environments. Open-toe footwear of any kind—including crocs or house shoes—is not permitted inside the facility. We supply all inspection tools, consumables, and course materials you will need during training.

Refund Policy

Students may request a refund or reschedule to the next available cohort if they have not already rescheduled and provide at least two weeks’ notice prior to the start date. The director may grant reschedules for documented extenuating circumstances. If Refined must cancel a course, students receive a full refund or credit toward a future class—travel costs remain the student’s responsibility.

  1. Refunds are calculated using scheduled class hours through the last academically related activity. Leaves of absence, suspensions, or holidays are excluded.
  2. The effective termination date is the earliest of:
    1. The date the school terminates the student.
    2. The date written notice is received from the student.
    3. Ten school days following the student’s last day of attendance.
  3. If tuition and fees are collected in advance and, after the 72-hour cancellation window, the student never begins the course, no more than $100 in administrative fees will be retained.
  4. If a student withdraws or is terminated after starting the program, the school may retain up to $100 in administrative fees. Remaining tuition is refunded pro rata based on unused scheduled hours, up to the 75% completion mark. No refund is due after 75% completion.
  5. Extra-cost items (books, tools, supplies) are handled separately. Required items may be purchased when needed; once issued, they are non-refundable.
  6. A student who withdraws for non-academic reasons after 75% completion and requests a grade receives “incomplete” and may return within 12 months without additional tuition for the unfinished portion.
  7. A full refund of tuition and fees is issued when:
    1. An enrollee is not accepted by the school.
    2. The course is discontinued before the student can complete it.
    3. Enrollment was procured through misrepresentation in advertising or by school representatives.
  8. Additional pro rata or full refunds may apply in cases of program deficiencies or regulatory violations.

Refund Policy for Students Called to Active Military Service

A student called to active duty may elect one of the following options:

  1. Receive a pro rata refund of any tuition, fees, or charges paid—and cancellation of any remaining balance—for the portion of the program not completed.
  2. Receive a grade of “withdrawn-military” with the right to re-enroll (without additional tuition) within 12 months of discharge, aside from any outstanding balance on the original tuition or books.
  3. Accept assignment of an appropriate final grade or credit if at least 90% of coursework is completed and competency is demonstrated.

All refunds will be processed within 60 days of the effective termination date.

Student Complaint & Grievance Procedure

Students are encouraged to meet with the school director to resolve concerns about programs, services, or staff. Formal written complaints receive a response within ten business days of receipt. The school is approved by the Texas Workforce Commission (School No. S5809); programs adhere to TWC requirements.

Students dissatisfied with the school’s resolution—or unable to file a complaint directly—may submit a formal complaint to TWC and other relevant agencies. Visit www.texasworkforce.org/careerschoolstudents for instructions.
